Mercy Corps is a highly respected international relief and development agency that is working on poverty alleviation projects in China. The goal of MC’s China program is to build stronger communities, to enhance the capacity of non-governmental organizations and to develop long-term solutions to alleviate poverty. In conjunction with our partner, the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation (CFPA), we conduct programs in microfinance, maternal and infant health support, disaster relief, educational opportunities for poor students, and hospital information systems and hospital staff training.

We are now seeking an Administrative Officer (full time) for our Beijing office.

Key Responsibilities are:
a) Office Administration
• Maintain employee records in compliance with China Labor laws and Mercy Corps employment policies;
• Ensure all benefits are properly administered and payroll information provided to relevant government authorities;
• Assist with recruitment and orientation of new staff;
• Assist with banking and cash management for office;
• Assist with preparation of Human Resource Manual and ensure HR policies are understood and adhered to by staff;
• Make staff travel arrangements including visa requirements;
• Procurement of office supplies / equipment in accordance with MC procurement policies.
b) Project Support
Support our project manager and other staff with our projects by:
• Assisting with preparation of project plans, reports, correspondence and documents including English-Chinese translation;
• Arranging meetings, seminars, conferences etc;
• Assisting with market / donor research and preparation of proposals and reports

Key Requirements are:
• Hold Chinese citizenship
• Experience in similar position
• College / University degree
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks with limited supervision
• Willingness to travel occasionally to project locations in China
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft office programs
• Good spoken and written English
• Interest in China’s social and economic development
