I.          JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the Assistant Program Officeris to perform a wide variety of support to the following areas as detailed below:
·         Program Implementation and Management
·         Training Support
·         M&E Support
II. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
·         Being responsible for coordinating the relevant work of h2h resource mobilization, making and issuing the publicity materials of h2h parent education, and assisting in partly financial and administrative work of h2h project
·         Support Program Manager in the timely completion of program implementation and management documents for h2h program
·         Support the carrying out/implementation of all project plans
·         Support proposal writing as needed through conducting research
·         Support Program Manager in timely submission of monthly narrative and financial reports
·         Support logistic and administrative elements to ensure smooth implementation of programs
·         Support the establishment and maintenance of programmatic relationships
·         Liaise and follow-up with local partner NGOs, local government, teachers, parents and children on behalf of RTP as needed (ie: via email, phone, fax, etc)
·         Maintain communication with experts on behalf of Program Officer and/or Technical Support Team as needed
·         Communicate/follow-up with donors as needed on behalf of Program Officer
·         Support the implementation of baselines, needs assessments, program monitoring and evaluations for h2h program
·         Support the completion quarterly reports
·         Support curriculum development for specified programs
·         Support development of trainings for specified programs
·         Support data collection for monitoring purposes
·         Liaise/communicate with local stakeholders as necessary to support training, M&E, curriculum development
III. QUALIFICATIONS
A) EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
·         Post-secondary education
B) EXPERIENCE
·         1-3 years work experience in management/implementation of child development programs, experience in child development program implementation and management will be an asset.
·         Experience in building and maintaining partnerships with various partners including NGOs, CBOs, local government, etc.
·         Understanding of humanitarian and development issues that are specific to China
·         An understanding of sport for development goals and a willingness to promote the benefits of sport and play as a tool for learning and development

·         Ability to oversee and support programming and project activities
·         Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to strengthen collaborative relationships with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues
·         Ability to pragmatically solve problems and plan a course of action using analytical, conceptual, strategic and forward thinking abilities to achieve an effective resolution
·         Ability to work under pressure
·         Excellent oral and written communication skills
·         Strong analytical skills

·         Ability to multi-talk
·         Willingness and ability to travel
·         Legally able to live and work in China
D) KNOWLEDGE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
·         Native speaker of Mandarin
·         Fluency in English
·         Understanding of government structure, practices and policy development procedures in China
·         Understanding of child development, protection, education and/or participation a strong asset
·         Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, Power Point
Salary:                        Commensurate with experience
Employment Start Date:     before June 30th  
Contract Duration:             2 years
