Job Title: Project Manager(s) – Trade-related technical assistance project
Location: Beijing, China
Highly motivated Project Managers are sought for a trade-related technical assistance project jointly funded by the European Union and the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The project (2010-2015) will support China in the design, implementation and enforcement of trade and investment policy, legislation and regulation at central and provincial levels. A Project Manager is required to work on one of the following five areas: i) services industries, ii) quality infrastructure/technical barriers to trade; iii) agriculture and agro-food/sanitary and phytosanitary measures; iv) customs and trade-related regulatory systems; and v) horizontal issues.
Reporting to the respective Component Expert and the Project Team Leader, each Project Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing capacity building activities such as studies, workshops, conferences and study missions, providing research and analysis on respective areas in China and the EU, and ensuring high quality and timely delivery of outputs. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are a necessity given the need for daily cooperation and dialogue with Chinese and European officials and other stakeholders.
Ideal candidates require:
·     A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management, preferably in the area of trade-related technical assistance or international development
·     A graduate degree in international trade and economics, public policy or international development, legal studies or engineering preferable. Other degrees considered.
·     Experience in one of the relevant project component areas, i.e.:
i)        Services industries, including financial services (banking, insurance, securities), telecoms, construction, health care, etc; or
ii)      Quality infrastructure/technical barriers to trade, including standards, technical regulations, conformity assessment, testing, market surveillance and consumer protection; or
iii)    Agriculture and agro-food/sanitary and phytosanitary measures, including food safety and SPS, agricultural policy and rural development; or
iv)    Customs and trade-related regulatory systems, including trade facilitation, trade defence and trade statistics; or
v)      Horizontal issues, including sustainable trade and investment policies, competition policy, government procurement, public consultation, etc.
·     Strong interest in international trade, especially between the European Union and China
·     Team player with strong coordination and organisational skills
·     Excellent communication and relationship-building ability with strong client servicing skills
·     Excellent research, analytical and report writing skills
·     Highly motivated and hard working
·     Reliability, initiative, thoroughness and attention to detail
·     Fluency in written and spoken English required
·     Knowledge of Chinese preferred; working experience in China an asset
·     Computer literacy in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Job Title: Visibility Manager – Trade-related technical assistance project
Location: Beijing, China
A highly motivated Visibility Manager is sought for a trade-related technical assistance project jointly funded by the European Union and the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The project (2010-2015) will support China in the design, implementation and enforcement of trade and investment policy, legislation and regulation at central and provincial levels. Working in close cooperation with the Project Team and reporting to the Project Team Leader, the Visibility Manager will be responsible for:
·     Keeping stakeholders and general public informed of project achievements and impacts
·     Preparing regular activity and status updates for key project partners
·     Managing internal communications
·     Working with EC services and beneficiaries and devising joint visibility actions
·     Developing and managing a wide range of visibility and PR activities
·     Increasing the scope and scale of the project’s reach through professional media management
·     Writing marketing, online content and press releases
·     Managing promotional campaigns, website, e-learning initiatives and marketing and promotional materials
·     Liaising with service providers and suppliers
·     Ensuring timely execution and production of key deliverables
Ideal candidates require:
·     A minimum 3 years experience in communications, marketing, PR, media relations or related field
·     Graduate degree in Media/Communication/Journalism studies preferable. Other degrees considered.
·     Interest in international relations, especially between the European Union and China

Job Title: Events Coordinator – Trade-related technical assistance project
Location: Beijing, China
An experienced and highly motivated Events Coordinator is sought for a trade-related technical assistance project jointly funded by the European Union and the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The project (2010-2015) will support China in the design, implementation and enforcement of trade and investment policy, legislation and regulation at central and provincial levels. Project components include the following five areas: i) services industries, ii) quality infrastructure/technical barriers to trade; iii) agriculture and agro-food/sanitary and phytosanitary measures; iv) customs and trade-related regulatory systems; and v) horizontal issues.
Working in close cooperation with the Project Managers, the Events Coordinator will be responsible for:
·     Organising and managing small and large scale events including roundtables, workshops and conferences
·     Organising logistical aspects of study missions
·     Liaising with service providers (venues, hotels, destination management companies, audio visual companies, decorators etc.) on pricing and contracts
·     Producing event project plans and management of event budgets
·     Monitoring and reporting of event statistics
·     Ensuring high quality and timely delivery of all services and materials required for activities
Ideal candidates require:
·     A minimum of 3 years of hands-on event and project management experience in China
·     Graduate degree
·     Interest in international relations, especially between the European Union and China
·     Team player with strong coordination and organisational skills
·     Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

·     Ensuring high quality and timely delivery of all admin work
