II. Organizational Context
Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Coordinator of the Policy Support Team, the Programme Analyst/Economist provides analysis and briefings on macro economic policies and trends and relevant linkages to UNDP programmes. The Programme Analyst/Economist provides analysis for formulation of strategies and briefings to Senior Management. The Programme Analyst/Economist works closely with Government counterparts to identify alternative macroeconomic policy options and to enhance the policy impact of UNDP projects and programmes. The Programme Analyst/Economist advocates for and represents UNDP in his/her area of expertise as requested by his/her supervisor and Senior Management.

The Programme Analyst/Economist works in close collaboration with the programme and operations teams, programme staff in other UN agencies, UNDP HQs staff and Government officials, technical advisors and experts, multi-lateral and bi-lateral donors, civil society and private sector contributing to successful CO programme implementation.
