1. Special region Manager of HU Burma Programme
Location: One of capital of Special regions in Burma-China border area, Burma/Myanmar
Job Duration: April, 2010-April 2012 (2 years)
Report to: HU East Asia Area/Regional Director
Main Function of the Post:
The Manager takes full responsibility for the implementation of HU programme in one of capital of special region.
Responsibilities:
1. To take responsibility for formulating work plans and budget according to the proposal, and to organize project activities.
2. According to work plan, to realize in a timely fashion the tasks/indicators of project progress.
3. To coordinate and communicate with donors, and partners (both from China and Burma/Myanmar sides), to establish and maintenance good cooperation relationship with them.
4. To recruit the personnel that the project requires, to offer training to the project personnel and to improve their capacity.
5. To manage and supervise the usage of project funds.
6. To take necessary steps to make sure the project material/supply can be kept and distributed appropriately.
7. To take necessary steps to make sure project data collect and analysis in an efficient manner.
8. To spend 2/3 of the time working in the field, provide management and technical support and carry out monitoring and supervision for field activities.
9. To submit project reports timely, including project progress reports, mission report;
10. Assist in programme advocacy and provide project materials for advocacy and fundraising;
11. Carry out any other reasonable tasks required by line manager.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above
2. Minimum four years’ work experience
3. At least two years’ experience working with government, beneficiaries, NGOs or relevant technical institutes
4. Excellent ability to write reports in Chinese and English
5. Capacity of project financial management skills, including budgeting, checking and reporting.
6. Project management skill & knowledge, such as planning, monitor and supervise
7. Strong skills in human resource management and staff capacity building
8. Good computer skills
9. Willing to work in poor areas, travel frequently and work overtime with good health
Desirable:
1. Four years or above of INGO project management experience.
2. Major in Medical or Public Health
3. Fluent oral and written English/minority group language skills
4. Work experience in China/Myanmar border areas
5. Experiences in epidemiology survey and research
2. Unit Manager of HU regional office
Location: Kunming or Beijing
Job Duration: April, 2010- April 2012 (2 years)
Report to: HU East Asia Area/Regional Director
Main Function of the Post:
The Manager takes full responsibility for unit (one of existing units, i.e, finance, programme or communication) operation/management in regional office based in Kunming.
Responsibilities:
1. To participate in regional planning and decision making as senior management team members.
2. To formulate the unit (one of existing units, i.e, finance, programme or communication) objective and its work plan according to regional planning.
3. Providing technical and management support for all projects supervised by the regional office.
4. Monitoring all projects in time.
5. To take necessary measure to make sure work plan of the unit run well and gain the unit objective
6. To coordinate and communicate with donors, and partners (both from China and Burma/Myanmar sides), and government institutions, to establish and maintenance good cooperation relationship with them.
7. To recruit the personnel that the unit requires, to offer training to the project personnel and to improve their capacity.
8. To submit project reports timely.
9. Routine/Specific tasks/responsibilities belong to the unit manager position.
10.Carry out any other reasonable tasks arranged by line manager.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above
2. Minimum four years’ work experience
3. At least two years’ experience working with government, beneficiaries, NGOs or relevant technical institutes
4. Excellent ability to write reports in Chinese and English
5. Common basic skill/experience for a unit manger position you will apply
6. Good computer skills
7. Willing to travel frequently and work overtime with good health.
Desirable:
1. Four years or above working experience in INGO related to the position you will apply
2. Education background is related to the position you will apply
3. Fluent oral and written English skills
4. Work experience in China/Myanmar border areas or programme field

Our work in China and Myanmar mainly includes maternal health care, expanded programme of immunization, community health education, establishing and strengthening local health network, the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis, improving water and sanitation systems, etc. Current project areas in East Asia include 14 border counties of Yunnan, China and Special Region 2 of Kachin State and Special Region 1, Special Region 2, Special Region 4 of Shan State, Myanmar.
