Job Announcement: Program Assistant
Criminal Clinical Legal Education Project
International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) has initiated a project in collaboration with the Committee of Chinese Clinical Legal Educators (CCCLE) to develop criminal clinical legal education in China. Important components of this project include improving the curriculum design and methodology of training law students in criminal defense issues and skills, and promoting the development of mutually beneficial collaborations between law school clinic legal education programs and the larger criminal justice community.
International Bridges to Justice (IBJ) (国际司法桥梁) supports the continued development of China’s criminal justice system by working in partnership with government and civil society institutions, to provide practical training, resources and other technical assistance to criminal defense lawyers and other criminal justice actors. IBJ is a non-governmental, non-profit organization with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
IBJ is currently seeking a Chinese national for the position of Program Assistant, Criminal Clinical Legal Education Project to be based in Beijing. The Program Assistant will directly report to a ClinicalProgram Manager. The Program Assistant will also work closely with partners in CCCLE. The position is currently funded through August, 2010, with a possibility of continued funding.
Primary Responsibilities:
· To provide administrative support to implement all program activities associated with project;
· Translate documents and Interpret at Training Workshops and Meetings
· (both English-to-Chinese and Chinese-to-English)
· To coordinate the preparation of all relevant resource and training materials;
· To liaise with university faculty and greater criminal justice community
· To regularly meet, plan and coordinate with the Clinical Program Manager and program partners;
· To assist the Program Manager with assessment of criminal law clinics engaged in the Project, in collaboration with local partners;
· To draft periodic reports;
· To provide all other necessary support to Clinical Project Manager
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Law Required;
· Excellent Command of Written and Spoken English;
· Experience and Interest in Clinical Legal Education and/ or Criminal Defense Preferred;
· Knowledge of Chinese Legal System, Especially Criminal Justice System Preferred;
· Willingness to Travel Extensively, as Necessary
· Details-oriented, Able to Manage Multiple Tasks on Tight Deadlines
· Strong Organizational Skills
· Ability to Work Independently
· Comfortable working with an international organization and its staff;
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications

国际司法桥梁现正招聘一位中国籍人士担任刑事法律诊所教育项目的项目助理。工作地点在北京。项目助理将直接向刑事诊所法律教育项目的项目经理汇报工作。项目助理也将和诊所法律教育委员会紧密合作。本职位目前的资金支持将从即日起至2010年8月,并有可能获得延期。
主要职责:
1.为一切与项目实施相关的活动提供行政支持;
2. 资料翻译并担任培训及会议的中英文翻译(英翻中及中翻英);
3. 协助准备一切相关资源和培训材料;
4. 与大学师资和刑事司法界人士保持联系;
5. 与诊所项目经理和项目合作方定期会见、制定计划和协调工作;
6. 帮助诊所项目经理,与合作方一起对项目内的刑事法律诊所进行定期评估;
7. 撰写定期报告;
8. 向刑事诊所法律教育项目经理提供一切必要支持。
招聘条件:
1. 法学学士学位,
2. 流利的中英文表达能力(口语和写作);
3. 对刑事法律诊所教育和(或)刑事辩护感兴趣并有实际经验;
4. 了解中国法律制度,特别是刑事司法制度;
5. 必要时能够经常出差;
6. 工作仔细、认真,能够处理多项紧急任务;
7. 具有优秀的组织协调能力;
8. 能够自如地在国际组织环境下工作和与多元同事共事;
9. 熟练使用微软办公软件。
