DEVELOPMENT Solutions (DS) is a European consultancy working internationally in the field of international development across our four company divisions of human capacities, policy consulting, energy and environment, and business facilitation. Our expertise, applied mainly in developing countries, steers implementation of technical assistance projects. DS is currently implementing a series of high-profile European Commission funded technical assistance projects in developing countries. We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Project Officer to join our team in the Human Capacities Division. Applicants with international donor project management experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply.
· Agriculture and Food Safety
· Health and Education
· Social Programmes
· Organisation of Technical Capacity Training
· Logistical Management
Project Officers will be responsible for project planning and implementation and will lead implementation and coordination activities including client reporting. The Project Officer will also assist the management team and new business team in project development.
Prospective candidates require:
· Undergraduate degree or higher in a related international development discipline
· Experience in project implementation in the area of international development
· Experience managing effective working relationships with international organisations/agencies, governmental offices, and research organisations
· Broad technical understanding of agriculture, food safety or rural development and social development
· High quality oral and written skills communication skills and excellent research skills
· Superior organisation with strong client servicing skills
· Ability to work with limited direction and to meet tight deadlines
· Reliability, initiative, thoroughness and attention to detail
· Highly motivated, hard working and ambitious
· Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
· Experience in China/SE Asia an asset
· English fluency required; additional language skills an asset

DS is currently expanding its new business operations in the Asian region. We are seeking highly motivated and talented candidates to complete paid internships within our Business Development team. Applicants should have gained a basic level of experience and/or interest in public sector work, energy and environment, and sustainable development. Familiarity with technical writing will be a distinct advantage.
Prospective candidates require:
- Undergraduate degree or higher in social sciences or a related discipline
- Excellent written and spoken English to undertake proposal development, presentations, contacting partners, etc
- High quality research and analytical skills
- Superior organisation with strong client servicing skills
- Understanding of EU and other major international donor funded projects
- Ability to work with limited direction and to meet tight deadlines
- Experience in China/SE Asia an asset. Mandarin language an advantage
- English fluency required, additional language skills an asset
