Communications Manager for TCG China
The Climate Group is looking for a Manager of Communications for its Greater China operations, based in Beijing. The ideal candidate must have strong writing skills, experience in crafting and pitching article ideas to print, radio and TV media, the ability to understand the organization's annual strategic plan and create a communications plan to support achieving those goals, and have a proven track record in a variety of public relations and communications areas either in-house or with an agency.
The position is a key part of a small but growing communications team that supports Greater China operations.
Responsibilities
• Manage and direct all aspects of a comprehensive communications program for The Climate Group in Greater China
• Create and implement strategic communications plan that support key elements of the Greater China plan for The Climate Group
• Develop effective media strategy targeting media that reaches key target audiences necessary to achieve The Climate Group's overall objectives
• Implement effective tactical media outreach, including pitching article ideas and securing coverage in print and broadcast media
• Develop media materials such as press releases to announce major events, media background materials on The Climate Group and climate change issues
• Ensure consistency of all messaging and materials with The Climate Group's global positioning, while ensuring local relevance
• Identify suitable speaking opportunities for Greater China director and other members of The Climate Group, work with conference organizers to secure speaking slots
• Work with public relations departments of member companies to leverage partnerships to deliver greater communications impact, when appropriate
• Manage content on The Climate Group's Chinese language web site
• Work with teams in different functions and in different geographic locations to identify priorities and coordinate international activities

Qualifications
• Three to five years of experience in public relations, ideally in an agency
• Degree in writing, journalism, communications or related subject matter
• Excellent writing skills
• Ability to translate often complex ideas into clear, easy to understand messages
• Extremely organized and an excellent communicator (oral and written)
• Attention to detail to be able to proof own written materials
• Experience in working with the media
• Excellent speaking and writing skills in Mandarin Chinese (native level) and ability to communicate in English

Senior Program Officer of City and Region Leadership, China
The Climate Group (TCG) is seeking a dynamic, experienced and motivated professional to join our city and region leadership program in Mainland China, based in Beijing. A clear understanding of climate policy frameworks, low carbon economy and urbanization under national and international context is a requirement. Experience working in low carbon technology identification and application is preferable. The experience working in governmental sectors is an added asset. The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the team and others to engage with Chinese cities and regions, low carbon manufactures and financial institutions, etc.
Key tasks for the SPO will include:
• Helping program director develop long term strategy
• Assisting program director to identify, support and accelerate leading cities on developing low carbon economy;
• Building up relationships with government officials both at the municipal and national level;
• Facilitating collaboration between cities and partners and between cities among TCG network;
• Coordinating research into best practice and publication and dissemination of key research to stakeholders.
