Baubeginn im St. Angela Cheshire Heim für behinderte Kinder

Das zweite Borda hilft Spenden-projekt unterstützt in diesem Jahr das St. Angela Cheshire Heim in Lesotho, welches sich um behinderte Kinder kümmert. Das Heim leistet seit 1985 Hilfe für behinderte Kinder aus ganz Lesotho. Von den zur Zeit 36 jungen Bewohnern sind die Hälfte auf einen Rollstuhl angewiesen. BORDA hilft kann Dank der Spenden aus Bremen die sanitäre Grundversorgung für die jungen Bewohner des Heimes erneuern.

Parliamentary Hearing on BORDA’s Development Work Held in Bremen

Following an invitation from the "Bremische Bürgerschaft", the parliament of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, BORDA presented its work and progress in front of the Commission on Federal and European Affairs, International Contacts and Development Cooperation on September 30th in the Bremen House of Parliament.

Discussion Round on the Topic „Perspectives of Development Cooperation in India“

On the occasion of the India trip of Germanys Minister Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul a discussion round on the topic “perspectives of development cooperation in India” took place on the 20th of October 2008 in New Delhi. Several representatives of the German development cooperation and the leading donor organisations participated on this discussion round. Pedro Kraemer, program coordinator of BORDA was invited, too.

"Coupling Sustainable Sanitation & Groundwater Protection"

Hannover, 14. – 17. October 2008

In 2008 sanitation is on the very top of the political agenda since the United Nations declared it as the International Year of Sanitation (IYS). The Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR), committed to a sustainable use of natural resources and to the protection of the human habitat, took the opportunity to highlight the immense problems of groundwater pollution due to lacking or inadequate sanitation facilities in developing countries by organising the international symposium on “Coupling Sustainable Sanitation and Groundwater Protection” from 14-17 October 2008 in Hannover, Germany.
