Established in Macao in 1990, the foundation is a non-profit and non-governmental organization that has operated a representative office in Beijing since 1997, and is recognized by the Foreign Experts Bureau of the People’s Republic of China.

Guided by universal principles such as justice and the essential unity of mankind, and aligned with the national and local policies of the People’s Republic of China, the Foundation is dedicated to serving society by empowering individuals, institutions and communities through education and training. It develops educational programs and delivers them at the grassroots level, thus enhancing the ability of populations to contribute to the social and economic development of their communities.

The Foundation operates primarily in Macau SAR and the People’s Republic of China. It’s major programs include its Institutional Capacity Building Program, its Environmental Action Program, its Junior Youth Empowerment Program and its Social Enterprise Program. The Foundation also runs the School of the Nations, a primary and middle school located in Macao, in which a number of innovative educational programs are implemented.

The Foundation actively seeks to collaborate with like-minded institutions both at national and international levels. Through such collaboration, the Foundation seeks, along with others, to learn to identify and address the diverse challenges facing the global development community. The Foundation currently draws much of its inspiration from its strong network of national and international institutions and governmental organizations.
