The Levi Strauss Foundation provides grants to the Asia Foundation to support labor service programs for migrant women workers in the Pearl River Delta in Guangdong province. To date, more that 100,000 women workers have benefited from training, counseling, networking and aid programs in labor rights, legal rights, occupational safety and health, HIV/AIDS, and general life skills. The programs are developed and delivered through local partners such as the Guangdong Women’s Federation Guangdong Labor Union, Guangdong Women’s Cadre Training School, and Tsinghua University.

In the future, the Levi Strauss Foundation wishes to explore opportunities for collaboration with other brands and companies in China to expand or continue such labor service programs for migrant women workers in the Pearl River Delta. The Foundation will also embark upon new programs in China specifically for HIV/AIDS education and prevention.

Established in 1952, the Levi Strauss Foundation headquartered in San Francisco, USA provides grants to community-based organizations around the world
