This French-based organisation was founded in 2002 by some private individuals who, after reading in a newspaper about a girl who was forced by poverty to leave school, started informally to pay school fees for several girls in the same situation.
Once established, Enfants du Ningxia also began to provide equipment, including computers, books and teaching aids, for a primary and middle school. The group has also helped to rehabilitate a village water supply.
Enfants du Ningxia is funded by donations from private individuals and from coporations, including Hermes and Procter & Gamble.
