In 1995 ICC established a residential home in Changsha, Hunan, providing accommodation for 30 abandoned children, all of whom had some level of disability. The organisation now runs two residential facilities caring for more than 100 children. Local Chinese staff have received extensive, hands-on training and hold positions at all levels in the organisation.
ICC now offers training in therapy and special education to orphanage workers from around the country, using the work in Changsha as an example of what can be achieved. Each year, ICC brings to China several training teams of international volunteers with relevant expertise in rehabilitation and therapeutic care for children with disabilities.
This organization is funded through private donations.
