Founded in 2008 by a China-lover, Jean-Luc FAZAN, who has lived more than 15 years in China, first as a student in Chinese Studies, then as a manager for various companies. His frequent trips since 1986 in north Yunnan and his view of the present world convinced as everybody is speaking a lot but doing nothing, concrete action is needed. He says: « Everybody should feel responsible and be more or less involved in helping resolve the world problematique. Poverty, lack of education, poor access to health, damages caused to our environment and loss of identity are closely connected and should be addressed as a whole. We offer great opportunities to be involved, on a private or corporate basis, in useful and needed projects. It is a very rewarding human experience. It means also to be involved in shaping the future of the world and give our children a real chance. »
The Foundation can, by its Status, be active in the whole world but has decided to begin its activities and be involved in China, more precisely in the north of Yunnan. Projects in other provinces are also in preparation.
After a monitoring mission in spring 2006 in the north of Yunnan, discussions with communities and local government, 4 domains of action were identified, corresponding to the local needs of the region: education, health, economy (including poverty alleviation and environment) and culture, which became the 4 objectives of the Foundation.
The Foundation is active in those 4 fields, but is also conducting assessment or consulting for other NGO and organizations in relation with its Mission and objectives.
Income is coming from companies, individuals, and other NGO grants.
The Foundation is legally registered in Switzerland as a non-profit organization and is exempted of tax on turnover or profit.
