Established in Tokyo in 1961, this was at bfirst known as the International Organization for Cultivating Universal Human Spirit. It changed its name in 1965 to the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement, OISCA

OISCA recently established a School of Agricultural Technolgy in Shanghai’s Communications University (Shanghai Jiaotong Daxue).It is also involved in a reforestation project in Hubei where Japanese volunteers have planted 350 hectares of trees in an area damaged by heavy flooding.

OISCA International also works in Hong Kong, where a local chapter of the organisation has been established. Since 2001, the Japanese and Hong Kong groups have organised tree-planting programes in collaboration with the Hong Kong Natural Resource Protection Office.


OISCA’s income comes from membership fees, individual and corporate donations and government grants.
