The World Security Institute is a non-profit organization committed to independent research and journalism on global affairs, based in Washington D.C. At the World Security Institute China Program office in Beijing, we have a variety of projects going on that attempt to deepen a Sino-US dialogue and increase an understanding of China throughout the world.

i) China Security – an English language quarterly policy journal that seeks to improve the understanding of China on vital traditional and nontraditional security issues. www.chinasecurity.us
ii) Washington Observer Weekly – a Chinese-language news magazine with original in-depth news analyses, focusing on American foreign policies, socioeconomic development, trends in U.S. politics, and Sino-U.S. relations as well as their implications for the Asia/Pacific region, China in particular. www.washingtonobserver.org
iii) Morning China news digest - a twice-weekly news digest that provides the most important and up-to-date domestic Chinese news via email. The project aims to improve the understanding of China amongst international policy practitioners and the public by increasing the accessibility of Chinese news. www.wsichina.org/morningchina
iv) Conferences, Roundtables, and meetings – We organize an array of opportunities for Chinese and American policymakers, journalists and scholars to meet, discuss and exchange ideas in vital areas. We are planning a conference for April 2008 to be held in Beijing.
v) China-U.S. Dialogue on Spac e – is dedicated to strengthening security in space by enhancing transparency and discussion, educating the public and policy-makers as well as fostering relevant Chinese civil society and the media. www.wsichina.org/space
vi) Energy and the Environmen t – We research many aspects of energy and the environment in the context of security.

WSI China Program is an independent nonprofit organization, funded by grants and donations.
